How to work well on Kaziiko
and keep clients coming back

Experts keep 85% of every order. The platform takes 15% and nothing else — no monthly fee, no charge to list. This page covers what is expected of you in return: how verification works, how to write a listing people order, how to deliver, and how you get paid.

Getting verified

Every application is read by a person, which takes one to two working days. You will need:

  • A professional bio — a few sentences on what you do and who you have done it for
  • Your M-Pesa phone number, which is where payouts go
  • National ID or passport number, plus a photo of the document
  • Years of experience and your service specialities
  • A professional certificate, if you work in tax, legal or accounting

Upload a photo of your ID where the numbers can actually be read — an unreadable scan stalls the review. Write a bio with something concrete in it. “Experienced professional” tells a client nothing; “I have processed over 200 KRA PINs and hold a certificate in Tax Administration” tells them whether to hire you.

Tax, legal and accounting specialities need a professional certificate. This is not negotiable. Clients hand over KRA credentials and financial records for this work, and we will not verify an account that cannot show the qualification.

Writing a listing people order

1. Name it the way a client would search for it

“KRA PIN registration” gets found. “Tax solutions” does not. The search matches your title and description, so write the words people actually type.

2. Say what is included, and what is not

Most disputes start here. If you file the return but the client gathers the documents, write that down before anyone pays.

3. Separate your fee from the government fee

An NTSA driving licence renewal carries about KSh 3,050 in government charges. That is the client's cost, not your earnings. State both figures plainly or you will spend the order arguing about it.

4. Quote a delivery time you can hold on a bad week

iTax slows to a crawl at the end of June. eCitizen queues. Promise the timeline you can meet when things go wrong, not the one that looks best.

Delivering the work

An order moves through four states. The client pays and the money sits in M-Pesa escrow. You work. You submit the delivery. The client confirms, and only then does the money move to you.

Paid→In progress→Delivered→Completed
  • Deliver inside the order, not over WhatsApp. Work sent outside the platform is work we cannot see, which means we cannot defend you if the client disputes it.
  • If something outside your control is holding things up — iTax down, an eCitizen queue, an office asking for one more document — post it in the order. Clients are patient with delays they know about and ruthless about silence.
  • A client who is not satisfied can request a revision, which moves the order back to in progress, or raise a dispute, which brings our team in to read both sides.

Handling client documents

Clients send national IDs, passports, KRA credentials and payslips to get their work done. You agreed to the Document Responsibility Pledge when you applied. It holds for every order, not just the first:

  • Use client documents only for the service that was ordered
  • Delete or securely destroy them within 7 days of the order completing
  • Never store, copy, sell or share them with anyone else
  • Never use client credentials to reach anything beyond the order
  • Report any accidental exposure to Kaziiko straight away

Mishandling a client’s documents is the fastest way to lose your account, and depending on what happens it can become a matter for the courts rather than for us.

Getting paid

You keep 85% of the order value. Kaziiko takes 15%, and that is the only charge — listing is free and there is no monthly fee. Payment is released once the client confirms the delivery, and it goes to the M-Pesa number on your profile, so keep that number current. If you change SIM, update it before your next delivery rather than after.

Escrow cuts both ways. The client cannot take the work and vanish, and you cannot be paid for work that was never delivered. That is the deal that makes strangers willing to hire you.

Keeping your account in good standing

Phone numbers, email addresses and social handles cannot be shared in chat, and all messages are scanned automatically. Taking payment outside Kaziiko ends an account permanently. The full rules, and what happens at each stage, are set out separately.
